EAST PALATKA, Fla. -- A man is in the Putnam County Jail on one count of aggravated battery after he attacked his brother with a screwdriver.
Alejandro Donato, 46, initially told deputies of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office that his younger brother Aaron was the aggressor in the fight that happened Tuesday morning in the 200 block of Old San Mateo Road.
Donato, who was being treated by emergency personnel for cuts on his left arm, back and head, told deputies his brother cut him with a machete and left, according to a release from PCSO Deputy Hancel Woods.
Deputies talked with Aaron and other witnesses that indicated Donato was actually the one that started the fight, coming at Aaron with a screwdriver. Aaron defended himself with a machete, according to Woods.
Donato is currently being held on $5,004 bond.
