JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting that happened in the 9200 block of Danville Avenue.

Detectives were called to reports of a shooting just after 1 a.m. Thursday.

Police say they found a middle-aged man shot in the stomach near Soutel Drive in the Sherwood Forest area.

The man was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police do not have suspect information at this time.
