Former Corrections Officer sentenced for burglary of CCSO Lieutenant

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Aaron Allen Foley was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the Armed Burglary of a garage belonging to a Lieutenant in the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

The 37-year-old also received 5 years each on two counts of Grand Theft, 5 years for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and another 5 years for Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon.

In March 2012, Foley broke into the Clay County Lieutenant's garage in Fleming Island. He walked into the garage, which was accidentally left open, and stole a .22 caliber rifle, an all-terrain vehicle, power tools, and various hunting items.

The stolen goods were worth approximately $10,000.

Foley is a former corrections officer from Charlton County, Georgia. He is also a convicted felon.

In 2009, Foley pled guilty to a charge of False Impersonation of a Law Enforcement Officer.
