The dismembered body of a woman has been found in the Niagara River, police in Canada said.
The torso, which had no
head or limbs, was spotted by citizens on Wednesday and recovered by the
Niagara Parks Police near the Rainbow Bridge near Niagara Falls.
Preliminary postmortem
results indicated the woman was middle-aged, police said, and had at
least one cesarean section and had her fallopian tubes tied.
Authorities said the
homicide was unrelated to another case where the body parts of a woman
named Guang Hua Liu were found in several places. Her torso is still
missing.
Police expect the full results of an autopsy to be released Friday.
