PolitiFact has your back with an app that will get to the bottom of some of these claims. The app, called the Truth-O-Meter, rates factual claims after extensive research, puts quotes in context before and even tracks down the source in some cases before assigning a rating.
The app has six ratings ranging from True to Pants on Fire to describe a statement that is not accurate and is a ridiculous claim.
The Truth-O-Meter app is available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry and is $1.99.
