GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- A man faces life in prison after being found guilty by a jury on two counts of grand theft, and charges of armed burglary, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Aaron Allen Foley, 37, took an all-terrain vehicle, hunting items, power tools, hunting items and a .22 caliber rifle from a Fleming Island garage that was accidentally left open, according to a release from the State Attorney's Office.

Witness information led police to the apartment of Foley, who is a former corrections officer from Charlton County, Ga. Some of the stolen items were found near the apartment, the release stated.

Foley is a convicted felon who pleaded guilty to false impersonation of a law enforcement officer in 2009 in Duval County.

Foley is due to be sentenced the week of September 4.
