Update: According to the State Attorney's Office, the Dirty 30 case against Jared Jones was dismissed due to insufficient evidence. The case has been dropped.

PALATKA, Fla. -- Dozens of suspects are in jail today as police concluded an investigation into drug activity in the area.

"Operation Dirty Thirty" resulted in 33 arrests, although the identities of three of the suspects have been withheld by police.

The undercover operation used the resources of a tri-county task force.

In a news conference this afternoon, investigators said they had noticed that while cocaine was still being sold, they also have seen an increase in the trafficking of prescription drugs among older offenders.

Also reflecting a change in drug trafficking behavior, the average age of those arrested is 32. That is older than the people police usually see dealing drugs on a street level.

City commissioners hope this will put a dent in the property crime they've seen in the city, because police believe property crimes and drugs are connected.
