First Coast News is in search of the best dunker in the area.

We will be compiling video of some great area dunkers then posting these clips online.  Then we will ask you to vote for who you think is the best.

This is the second year that we've done this contest.  We also did it back in 2009.  Some of the contestants that year included Patric Young, now a freshman at Florida, Stacey Poole Jr., now a freshman at Kentucky, and Aaron Bowen, now a freshman at Georgetown.

Charles McRoy, now a freshman at UNF, got the most votes and won our inaugural contest.  To watch video of our 2009 contestants, click on the video clip within this story.

We're still looking for contestants for this year's competition.  If you know a local high school basketball player who excels above the rim, then please send an e-mail to ccushnir@firstcoastnews.com.  Be sure to include the student-athlete's name and which school he attends.

Look for the polls to open no later than Sunday, January 16th.  In the meantime, please enjoy the clips that we have already posted.
