JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The current economic landscape means a lot of you are working in new places.  It may have been quite some time since you've been the "new kid on the block."  It probably feels like unfamiliar territory, but the good news is we have help.

Dr. Paul will be back on Good Morning Jacksonville Thursday morning to talk about the best practices and behaviors to follow during those first few days of the new job.

They include:

  • First impressions do matter
  • Don't try too hard-take advantage of the office honeymoon
  • Avoid office politics
  • Come early, stay late
  • Listen, network and socialize
  • Find a mentor

"Understand that the first days on the job are like an extended interview," says Fadil.  "You and your company are still dating so to speak."

Fadil is a professor at the Coggin College of Business at UNF who specializes in organizational behavior and international management and appears Thursday mornings on Good Morning Jacksonville.

Talk to us on our facebook page about being the new kid at the office, and chat with Dr. Paul on GMJ beginning at 5 a.m.
