JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One of the many obstacles at work is the micro-manager - the boss that sits over your shoulder and watches your every move.

These managers are heavily focused on control.

"They become my-way bosses who many times do not trust or empower their employees to get the job done," said Paul Fadil, a professor at the University of North Florida and regular on Office Chat, a segment which airs Thursdays on "Good Morning Jacksonville."

Micro-managers, though they get results, can also make employees feel helpless.

The challenge is how to effectively work with them, because Fadil said, micro-managers will never change.
