ORANGE PARK, FL -- Friends of a woman killed at an animal clinic in Orange Park will gather for a dog walk in her memory.
A co-worker found the body of 25-year-old Andrea Boyer inside the Wells Road Veterinary Medical Center in January of 2007. She had been raped and beaten to death.
On Saturday afternoon, one day after the two year anniversary of her death, Boyer's friends will meet at the northwest corner of Highway 17 and Kingsley Avenue for a dog walk. They'll walk down River Road to the river and back.
Michael Renard Jackson is charged with Boyer's murder. DNA evidence found at the crime scene linked Jackson to Boyer's killing.
He is a convicted sex offender and lived in a hotel around the corner from the clinic. He received a 30 year prison sentence in 1986 for raping a 14-year-old girl at knifepoint, but served just over 12 years.
MICHAEL JACKSON'S ARREST HISTORY
Jackson is scheduled to go to trial in April. He is facing the death penalty.
