St. Johns deputies warn residents of phone scam

SJSO says scammers are using their main number. Deputies say they will always identify their names and ranks.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning about a phone scam where someone is using its main number.

On Facebook, SJSO wrote that deputies will always identify themselves with their name and rank if they call to contact you. It didn't specify what the scammer says on the phone.

If you receive a call like this, hang up on them and contact 911.
