St. Augustine Competes For Best Historic City

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- USA Today is asking you to pick the best historic city in the United States. St. Augustine is one of the 20 nominated cities, and there is a local push locally to get st. Augustine on the top of that list.

St. Augustine is in the running against cities such as Annapolis, Maryland, Boston, and Charleston South Carolina.

St. Augustine may be the oldest of all the cities in the competing, dating back to 1565 when Pedro Menendez founded the city 449 years ago.

This is yet again another ranking St. Augustine could claim. National Geographic already named it one of the best places to see holiday lights in the world. And in 2008, Travel and Leisure named St. Augustine the #1 U.S. city to visit for a European–like vacation without leaving the country.

You can cast one vote each day. Voting ends April 28th.
