Reverend: Corey confrontation was "foolish"

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local pastor is apologizing to State Attorney Angela Corey.

Ken Adkins says a meeting between a group called ICARE, and Corey, was inappropriate and foolish.

The two sides were meeting over civil citations to minors. At times, that meeting turned controversial, with both sides raising their voices.

Adkins, who isn't involved with ICARE, wrote a letter to Corey apologizing, for ICARE's behavior.

Part of it says, "I do not believe their actions are indicative of how pastors in this community feel about you or the job your office has done and is doing."

"To me it was extremely humiliating," he said. "We are supposed to be about the business of bringing people together and being peacemakers."

First Coast News asked ICARE for a response to Adkins' letter. We haven't heard back.
