Transformer explodes at Orange Park High after shelter closes

ORANGE PARK, Fla.—A fire broke out at Orange Park High School briefly on Saturday after a transformer exploded on campus, authorities say. 

The school had been a shelter against Hurricane Matthew until noon Saturday and operations were not impacted there.

Clay County Fire Rescue was able to bring the fire under control shortly after breaking out. No significant damage was reported.
