One killed in Ramona Blvd crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A crash in the Rolling Hills area Tuesday night killed one and sent another to the hospital.

An SUV heading Southbound on Greenland Road at 8:35 p.m. allegedly ran a stop sign at the intersection of Ramona Boulevard and Greenland Avenue, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. C.D. Jackson. The SUV struck a pickup truck that was heading Eastbound on Ramona Blvd.

A passenger in the SUV was thrown from the car and died at the scene. Two other passengers in the SUV had minor injuries, according to Sgt. Jackson. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway and at this time there is no indication alcohol was a factor. Police have not released the identities of anyone involved in the crash.
