JACKSONVILLE, FL -- After more than nine hours of negotiations Friday, Jacksonville Symphony musicians and Symphony management were unable to come up with an agreement on a new contract.
Symphony executive director Alan Hopper says the symphony presented new offers to musicians but he doesn't know if there was any real progress.
This weekend's symphony performances were canceled.
The traditional First Coast Nutcracker show is just a few days away, it is scheduled to start on the 7th.
Musicians have been locked out for two weeks.
The musicians say they cannot accept a contract that would cut their benefits.
But the Symphony says it has a $3 million dollar deficit and has to make some cutbacks.
Hopper says he hopes to continue negotiations sometime next week.
