JACKSONVILLE, FL -- So what can paddling 300 miles in the ocean get you? Besides a big pat on the back and a few sore muscles, sometimes a TV show. Right now that's how things are looking for 40-year-old Wyatt Werneth.

From Miami to Jacksonville he paddled on his 18ft paddleboard, no oars just arms. His goal, promoting ocean safety. That's what caught a local film company's eye.

Wayne Mooneyham with Mooneyham Productions is putting together a television show pilot. Wyatt is the star and safety is the message.

"We'd like to do a one hour special on safety and water sports and that was the reason for this one journey here," says Mooneyham.

From the dangers of rip currents, to learning how to save lives, all topics will be covered. After enduring rough waters and changing weather conditions along the way, the goal to inspire is out there more than ever.

"I started out like these guys, riding the rescue boards and I moved up to this modified ocean paddle board. Hopefully they'll be motivated to do something," says Wyatt Werneth.

"There are no shows on the cable networks about water sports and the safety that goes along with it," says Mooneyham.

No sound stage or bright lights, but instead a backdrop courtesy of Mother Nature and a mission captured on film.

Contracts are still in negotiations but Mooneyham says the TV pilot is scheduled to air on a major cable network within the next two to three months.
