NEPTUNE BEACH, FL -- Carlie Christenson hopes to become an American Inventor.
The ten-year-old fourth grader from Neptune Beach is traveling to Orlando on April 10 in hopes of impressing the judges of the reality show, American Inventor.
Carlie invented a product called "Boob-eez." "Boob-eez" are super-thin silicone discs that offer an invisible barrier between breasts and clothing to help girls "ease into boobs."
Carlie invented the product after realizing there was nothing on the market that solved the problem for girls and preteens who want coverage but don't yet need a bra.
"Boob-eez" have attracted the interest of national consumer magazines including, Family Circle, Teen Magazine, People, and Quick & Simple.
Carlie hopes "Boob-eez" will take her to the finals on American Inventor and she has already given thought to what she would do with the $1 million-dollar grand prize.
Carlie says she would like to "pay back Mom and Dad back for the money I've borrowed so far and, if I have any money left over, use it to send me and my sister to college." That's in addition to developing "Boob-eez" for different body and skin types and exploring ways to increase her sales and distribution networks.
