JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A doctor arrested on drug charges in St. Augustine is back behind bars.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office arrested 47-year-old Larry M. Friedes Friday night, two days after his arrest during an undercover drug sting at his home.

A spokesperson says the new arrest stems from drug related incidents in Duval County.

Friedes claimed to have privileges at four hospitals, but First Coast News learned his records aren't current. He no longer has privileges at Shands Jacksonville, Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Winter Haven Hospital, and Ed Frasier Memorial Hospital in Macclenny.

The hospitals told First Coast News Friedes resigned on his own free will.

Doctors are required to update the records with the state.

It'll be up to the U.S. Attorney's Office to decide whether Friedes should face federal charges.

Friedes has been taken to the St. Johns County Jail, and is being held on a $2,750,000 bond.
