JACKSONVILLE, FL - The rush is on to find the perfect holiday gift for the women in your life. Finding a unique gift for ladies can be difficult. But there are several gift ideas on the First Coast that she may not have asked for, but just might love.
Washing, drying, ironing and dry clean daily can be time consuming. So LG created the Steamwasher to make life easier.
"It's unlike any other washer on the market," says Todd Watson, Appliance Specialist for Home Depot. "It has a steam feature."
It is hotter than any other washer and that allows the machine to pull out odors and wrinkles without water or detergent. Plus toss a wrinkled piece of clothing in and the washer will steam it straight.
"There are certain typically dry clean only items like wool, rayon and some blends that can be safely put in this washer," says Watson.
The LG Steamwasher is sold online or at Home Depot stores starting at $1299. The dry for the duo starts at $899.
This year many woman want a personal touch with their gifts. Catie Didz specializes in personalized stationary right here on the First Coast. The stationary is made up of drawings. You can choose a body, head and activity that fit the person you are making the gift for.
"We have drawings for football players, cooks, even a crazy housewife with a broom," says Catie Grimes, Owner of Catie Didz. "We have over 400 drawings. So there is something for everyone."
Then choose the product. You can create items such as note cards, papers, luggage tags and return address labels. The gifts can be ordered online or by calling Catie Didz at (904) 629-0286. Most items start around $20.
Women also crave organization and therefore love products that help them feel like they have it all together. The Scrapp'in' Spin from Scrapp'in' with Sweet Nothings can put all of her tools in one unforgettable place.
The spinning container has dozens of pockets to hold big and small items. "Normally things on our desks or counters would be underneath stuff and thrown around," says Sharon Glatthorn with Scrapp'in with Sweet Nothings. "This way we can keep it handy"
It can fit nearly any use including scrapbook supplies, bath products, office supplies, or hair and makeup products.
The same Scrapp'in' Spin is $20 and the larger one is $40. They can be ordered online or by calling this local First Coast company directly at (904) 215-1327.
One of the areas of a woman's life that needs organization the most is our purses. They can become a bottomless pit. But now the Purse Pleaser can change all of that. The expandable, plastic organizer fits into any size bag. "It has slots to securely hold items like a cell phone, lipstick, checkbook and many other must have belongings."
The Purse Pleaser was created right here on the First Coast by Terri Newton. It can be bought online or by calling 1-800-440-8571. For $29.95 you can buy a lady all three sizes of purse pleasers.
Tomboy Tools is a woman's take on a what is often thought to be a man's world. She can do fix it work around the house herself with these unique tools.
They are designed to fit a woman's hand and needs. They are also most convenient than conventional tools. "These are smarter tools for smarter women," says Kristin Suter, saleswoman for Tomboy Tools.
The tools are rubberized so they don't slide across the floor. The hammer's magnetic nail grove allows you to work without holding the nail. The tape measures have big numbers and fractions instead of dash lines. The tools come in a variety of prices. They are primarily sold through "Tomboy Tool" house parties but can also be bought online.
For the kid in every woman you can get her a collectable pop-up book from Robert Sabuda. He portrays enchanting versions of favorite children's stories. The pages seem to come to life with even turn as the characters literally pop out of the book.
Every corner of the book has a pop-up. In "Alice in Wonderland" an accordion box pulls up and you look down inside to see the rabbit hole Alice fell into.
Sabuda's other books include: "The Wizard of Oz", "Cinderella", "T'was The Night Before Christmas" and "America the Beautiful". They can be bought at Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com and other book stores. The average price is $24.
And no holiday gift list would be complete without a little Bling. For the woman who dreams in diamonds, Neiman Marcus is selling a diamond studded bracelet for $128,000.
There is still time to get all of these gifts. But you better hurry before the perfect gift passes you by.
