JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer was shot on the Westside early Thursday morning.
Officer Darren Valiente was responding to a call about a loud party off Noroad Street. Valiente was outside talking with a homeowner when someone drove by and opened fire. The officer was grazed by the bullet. His vest kept him from getting seriously injured.
