ORANGE PARK, FL -- A teen is under arrest after allegedly running over a friend. The Clay County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Chris Summerford allegedly stole a truck in Orange Park and ran over a friend twice.

"He said you ran over him and then he backed up. He said you ran over him again and he said stop it," says a mother of one of the boys who saw the incident.

The 17-year-old victim suffered broken bones and bruises. Investigators say he is expected to be okay. Summerford was allegedly leaving an "open house party."

Police say the party was thrown by a 17-year-old boy who has been home alone for the last month while his parents are in Vietnam on vacation.

Police say, the boy had 20 to 30 friends over. There was alcohol and the party got out of control.

According to the police report, Summerford, was walking from the open house party with a group of guys from the party, when he stole a nearby truck.

Police say, according to state statutes, the 17-year-old who allegedly threw the party cannot be charged.

Investigators are looking into whether or not the parents can be charged since they were not in the country.

Police say there are pending charges on all the kids involved in the case.
