ST. JOHNS COUNTY, FL -- Sheriff's deputies are searching for a gunman who stole $3,400 worth of prescription drugs from a pharmacy Friday morning.
Witnesses say the man jumped over the counter at Walgreens on U.S. 1 South and demanded the store's entire supply of Oxycontin. When a pharmacist could not open a safe to get the bulk of it, the man took four bottles of Percocet and five bottles of Methadose.
Officials say he also tore the store's phone from the wall and threw everything off the pharmacy counter.
