FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. -- It's time to break out your banjo and your dancin' shoes.
The Florida Agricultural Museum is hosting an Old-Fashioned Barn Dance from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m Dec. 19.
The whole family is invited, and participants are encouraged to bring their instrument of choice to make the best bluegrass, country, folk and gospel music.
Suggested instruments include the banjo, dobro, fiddle, harmonica, mandolin, guitar, dulcimer, washboard, upright bass or moonshine jug - as long as it's empty.
If you can't play, don't worry: You can also sing. If you can't sing, still no problem: You can dance.
The barn dance begins at 5, and the featured performer is the Jackson Creek String Band with Roy Moye, and it will be joined by the Morse Family Band.
If you get there early, you can tour the museum and meet the horses, cows and piney woods rooters, plus you learn about riding lessons and other opportunities the museum offers.
There will be concessions for sale. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 3-12.
The Florida Agricultural Museum is located one mile south of the U.S. 1 exit from Interstate 95 in northern Flagler County, at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Old Kings Road.
