JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two sisters from the First Coast are making it big in the fashion world.
Danielle and Jodie Snyder founded DANNIJO in 2008, and sell their jewelry out of high-end boutiques in New York City.
The girls got off to a creative start in life, tinkering with their father's medical tool kit to learn about wire working, then studying what they liked about their favorite jewelry.
That gave them the foundation to create their own line.
"Our personalities are different but complementary, which makes for great synergy," says Danielle. "I'm much more bohemian and rock-n-roll inspired. I've always loved Native American Indian and tribal aesthetics, whereas Jodie finds more inspiration in Old Hollywood glam, films and music of past generations. This contrast has given us a very open-minded point of view that is translated in our range of designs."
They already have an impressive client list, citing Natalie Portman, Beyonce, and Sophia Bush, among others.
The sisters have also picked up national recognition. They are highlighted in the most recent issue of Inc. Magazine's "30 Under 30: America's Coolest Entrepreneurs."
Locally, their designs can be found at Rosenblum's.
Danielle and Jodie joined Joy Purdy on First Coast News at noon to talk about their jewelry.
