ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Admissions and financial aid employees at Flagler College got quite a jolt this morning.

An SUV drove onto the porch of 120-year-old Wiley Hall.

Flagler spokesperson Carrie Pack says three of the pillars of the Colonial Revival house were completely knocked out of one corner of the front porch, and maintenance crews are inspecting the area for structural damage.

A student was driving the car, and she was not injured.

Brian Thompson, director of public information for Flagler, said it appears she put her car in "drive" instead of "reverse" as she was leaving the parking space directly in front of the columns.

According to the Flagler College Gargoyle, the campus newspaper, the columns will be replaced with wooden beams until they can be repaired, which could be before Christmas
