JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The vampire love story gets a furry twist when the "Twilight" sequel, "New Moon," hits theaters tonight.
At Tinseltown Theatre on Southside Boulevard, "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" premiered on five screens.
At the Avenues, eight screens showed the flick, and all sold out.
"We bought our tickets two months ago!" said Roxanne Johnigan, who was with friends Mary Anne Jimenez and Tara Lowczys.
The three friends have read the books, and saw the first movie a few times. They arrived for the premiere of the sequel about five hours early.
Many fans of the movie--mostly women and teenage girls--played into the hype by dressing in "Twilight" T-shirts.
"We saw a couple of guys inside, but they were probably dragged by their girlfriends!" one fan said.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are back as love struck teens Edward and Bella. Edward and his family have left to protect her from his vampire lifestyle.
That leaves lovesick Bella to rekindle her friendship with friend Jacob, played by Taylor Lautner, but he's got his own supernatural secret. That means more danger for Bella but could lead to a reunion with Edward.
New Moon is rated PG-13.
