JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A film created by local children with special needs and put together by a well-known director is set to make its debut this weekend.

The film, "The Really, Really, Really Late Show," is a 60-minute spoof on late night television created by children diagnosed with various forms of autism.

Joey Travolta, brother of the actor John, returned to Jacksonville for the second year to work with the HEAL (Healing Every Autistic Life) Film Camp, FilmLab Productions and UNF's College of Education and Human Services.

The film is documentary-style as it follows 50 campers between the ages of 10 and 17 as they write, produce, direct and act in a film of their own.

Included in the film are a segment on the value of service dogs to children on the autism spectrum and several fun vignettes to show the difference such programs can make in the lives of children.

The debut is at 1 p.m.  Nov. 15. It will be shown at the University of North Florida Student Union Auditorium, across from the UNF Arena.

The event and parking are both free, but a suggested donation of $5 will benefit HEAL.
