JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- It's not Halloween anymore at Trinity Christian Academy, but thanks to the U.S. Navy, some students are getting to go for a slightly scary ride.
Gerry Flores, a Navy representative in Jacksonville, said the Navy's 12-station Blue Angels flight simulator was made for Navy awareness, and now the public can use it to see what the Navy has to offer.
Trinity Christian Academy Principal Dan Worley said the upper-level math and science students are using the simulator as part of their classes.
"They are currently studying velocity, motion and acceleration, and we thought it would be a good application," Worley said.
Many who tried it said it made them feel like they actually had been flying through the air in a Navy aircraft. Some even compared it to a carnival ride.
You can see the Blue Angels in action at the Sea and Sky Spectacular Sky Show over at Jacksonville Beach. It's from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and admission is free!
The event is part of the Week of Valor event. For more information, CLICK HERE.
