PUTNAM COUNTY, FL -- Authorities are looking for a hit-and-run driver who put an elderly man in the hospital with critical injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a car struck 80-year-old Joseph Dastous as he walked across Vernon Avenue in Crescent City Saturday night around 7:30.
Dastous is at Shands in Gainesville with critical injuries.
The FHP describes the vehicle as a dark-colored, older model square-type vehicle with damage to the left front bumper, hood and driver's side windshield.
