JACKSONVILLE, FL (AP) -- A Florida black bear relocated several times by wildlife officials was killed in Georgia after scaring kids off a basketball court and tearing up a home. The bear wore an ear-tag embedded by Florida officials naming it SO11. It was first captured in Broward County, then put in a forest nearby. After another relocation, the bear moved north and swam across the St. Marys River into Georgia. Wildlife officials there captured it again and placed the bear in a forest. But it turned up Saturday in a town called Screven, about 100 miles north of Jacksonville. It never harmed anyone, but appeared to have no fear of humans. Ken Boyette shot the bear after consulting wildlife officials. He says he didn't want to but was afraid someone would get hurt.
