JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A railroad crossing closing on Monday morning could cause delays during the morning rush hour.
U.S. 301 at the railroad crossing north of I-10 in Baldwin will be completely closed to traffic in both directions for approximately three weeks starting Monday, August 10.
The railroad crossing on U.S. 301 between Oliver and Clark streets in Baldwin will be completely rebuilt. This includes removing the old surface and replacing the crossing and its approaches with new concrete pavement. Replacing the sidewalks and the median is also part of the project.
The work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, August 10, and should be finished by approximately 5 p.m. on Friday, August 28. Both the road and the sidewalks will be fully closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic during construction.
The traffic detours will involve using Normandy Boulevard and U.S. 90. Normandy Boulevard and U.S. 90 will be east and west routes on the detour and Yellow Water Road and Chaffee Road will be the north and north and south routes.
