JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The Jaguars held the last of their 12 organized team activities on Thursday morning.

The team will remain together for the next few weeks as they complete the offseason weightlifting program, and then they'll have 17 days off until it's time to report for training camp. The team hasn't released the official practice schedule for camp yet, but it should begin in late July or early August.

"We talked all spring about doing all that we possibly could to be at our very best for our opportunity this fall," said head coach Jack Del Rio. "This was a must to have this kind of start, and we've had the start. Now we need to carry it over."

Del Rio also had some kind words to say about his new backup quarterback, Todd Bouman.

"I just think he gives us the best chance to win," said Del Rio, who continued to say that the reason why Cleo Lemon made the team last year in the preseason instead of Bouman was because of money. The Jaguars had more invested in Lemon after signing him to a three-year contract worth $3 million per season, but the team decided to cut ties with him yesterday after an unimpressive tenure with the team.

"It's a good move for us," said Del Rio. "Now we can get David (Garrard) more reps and not worry about splitting time with the backup guys."
