JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A man from Jacksonville who has a long list of traffic violations is facing a long list of new charges after getting clocked going 163 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer had a car pulled over near the Hart Bridge when he heard tires screeching behind him.

He turned to see a pickup truck flying down the highway, weaving from lane to lane.

The officer followed the driver over the Hart Bridge and into the downtown area.

The driver got off at Duval Street (not far from the Duval County Jail where he is now), ran a red light, drove the wrong way down another street before stopping in the middle of the road.

The driver got out of his truck, put his hands in the air, saying, "I was wrong," and "I'm drunk."

Police arrested 27 year old Curtis Smith. Officers found a bag of marijuana and $1,900 in cash in his pocket, a bottle of vodka in his truck and a rolled up $20 bill, laden with white powder.

Smith is facing charges of possession of cocaine, failure to move over for an emergency vehicle, unlawful speed, and running a red light. A records check showed Smith as a habitual traffic offender. He has numerous arrests for driving with a suspended license as far back as 2002.
