ORANGE PARK, FL -- Economists say people will buy candy and a a few other items regardless of how bad the economy is.
Etiquette of Chocolate keeps the customers pouring in, making the owner's year-old business recession-proof.
"It's an affordable luxury. Even in this economy, people can afford to spend a dollar, $2 on a piece of chocolate, especially if it's good chocolate," says founder Jaycel Adkins.
Alcohol and tobacco products are two things some can't live without.
And people are still making those monthly hair appointments and hoping to hit the lottery jackpot.
But nothing is completely immune from hard times. Adkins says corporations are cutting their catering budgets way back.
"People's HR budgets, they go from spending $16 a person, to not wanting to spend $4, if that. They go from goody bags to a pen with the name on it," says Adkins.
