JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Some First Coast teens are heading on a mission to Costa Rica, but it's a trip anyone can take with them on-line.

The Youth Ministry from Celebration Church will be blogging during their entire trip; writing about their experiences and sharing their pictures.

15-year old Chelsea Kibbey can't wait to go. "I'm going because it's really exciting to help people who can't help themselves and I think God was calling me to go."

Kibbey is one of 18 high school students heading to Costa Rica on a mission to one of the poorest areas in that country. Over the last several months they've collected things like soccer balls, crayons, stuffed animails even toothpaste to give to the children there.

All the teens are ready to go to work. "We thought it would be good for them to work in a school. We'll actually be pouring concrete for a basketball court. The schools are wide open for anyone wanting to help," said Youth Pastor John Wyatt.

The students will also teach English lessons to the children and tell them about their faith. "I really want to reach out to the children and witness to a couple of people," said 17-year old Aldyn Broach.

It will be a new experience for everyone. "I've never flown on a plane before let alone go to another country," said 17-year old Josh Lawrence.

It will also be life changing. Most importantly they'll help make a difference in another part of the world.

The group is leaving early Friday morning at 2am. They will be gone for 7 days.

You can share in their adventure by checking out their blogs of the trip at www.fromthefield.wordpress.com
