JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Amendment One passed with 64% voting for the measure across Florida, however Duval County voters went a different way.
The majority of voters went against the amendment.
Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton opposed the tax cut from the beginning, calling it a "one size fits all tax remedy."
Mayor Peyton says this is anything but helpful for Duval county.
The tax cut is predicted to save homeowners about $240 per year.
But firefighters and police departments campaigned against the measure, citing potential cuts to critical safety services.
