Need a free haircut? Kutting for Kids is Sunday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It's July, It's hot. Maybe you're ready for a FREE haircut.

Sunday, August 3, is Kutting for Kids 2014. Just donate ten inches or more and professional stylists will cut your hair at no charge.

Kutting for Kids will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Nimnicht Chevrolet at 1550 Cassat Avenue. Men and women hair accepted.

The hair will be used to make custom wigs for children bald from medical conditions or severe burns.

The custom wigs will have a special vacuum seal. The children can swim or run in the wind without the fear of their wigs coming off.

Over the years as Jacksonville-area folks have donated their hair, children and parents have explained how the wigs can revolutionize lives.

Some children dropped out of school because other kids teased them about being bald. But with the wigs, kids can return to a much more normal life.

The Kutting for Kids event Saturday will include a Bounce House, a Cool Mist Zone, putting game, toss games, and a DJ with a sound system.

The call is out for more stylists to come cut hair.
