The Nassau County Sheriff's Office is raising money to send their honor guard team to the fallen officer memorial in D.C. May 11-17.

Deputy Eric Oliver died in the line of duty while chasing a man who ran from a traffic stop across State Road 200. Oliver was hit and killed by a car on the busy roadway near the end of last year.

Oliver's name will be added to the fallen officer memorial during the National Police Memorial Week. Organizations from around the country will attend to pay respects to and thank fallen law enforcement officials.
