Nassau County crash kills one, injures children

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- A 62-year-old man died in a crash in Nassau County Friday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Harold Reginald Page was driving his Chevrolet Silverado north on U.S. 1 near Pickett Street around 2:20 p.m. Page lost control of his truck, for reasons unknown to FHP, and crossed into the southbound lane and struck another vehicle head-on.

Page was pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the second vehicle, a Chevrolet Traverse, were taken to Baptist Medical Center for precautionary reasons. Two children in the vehicle were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Page, a Hilliard resident, was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, according to FHP. Alcohol results are pending.
