JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- 16-year-old Melvin Woodard was killed in a weekend car crash. Now, his mother wants the driver locked up.
"I want him to pay for what he did, because my baby is gone," said Annette Hurst.
JSO says the driver of a stolen Mazda 3 lost control going around a curve on Moncrief Road near Edgewood, went through several lanes of traffic, and hit a pole. Woodard died at the scene. Two passengers, and the driver were taken to the hospital.
Hurst says her son didn't know the car was stolen.
There's no word if charges will be filed. Hurst says there needs to be. She had a strong message for the driver.
"You took a life from me, and my family is suffering," she said.
