Marijuana found in child's backback

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- A Clay County resource officer found marijuana inside a kindergartner's backpack.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, a teacher at Keystone Heights Elementary heard the student bragging about bringing his mother's cigarettes to school.

When the school principal checked the student's backpack, she found what appeared to be a small bag of marijuana.

The child's mother said the drugs were not hers and she did not know where they came from.

The Department of Children and Family is investigating.
