Man pleads guilty to after hitting pair near synagogue

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man who ran over a mother and her daughter as they crossed the road near their synagogue has pleased guilty to all counts he was facing.

The crash happened in Fall of 2013 as the family was headed to Temple.

Esther Ohayon, 57, was killed and her 16 year old daughter Orly was seriously injured when they were struck by Michael Fortunato's vehicle while attempting to cross San Jose Boulevard in Mandarin.

Fortunato plead guilty Wednesday to careless driving, failing to use due care and driving with an expired license.
