Man injured as bullets fly on I-95

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An unidentified man was shot while driving on Interstate 95 southbound near Golfair Boulevard Sunday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The victim told off duty JSO officers at the hospital he was driving on I-95 when unknown suspects in another vehicle began shooting at him.

The victim crashed as a result of being shot. He was injured but expected to survive. The victim's friends took him to the hospital in another car.

Police were called to scene around 11 p.m. When officers arrived they located an unoccupied white car crashed and rolled over on the shoulder of I-95 SB.

A witness told police that the driver was picked up by unknown individuals in another vehicle. The witness also reported hearing possible gunshots prior to the crash.

The suspects in this incident are unknown and still at large. No further description of the suspect or the vehicle was given.
