Looking for answers in Tipton investigation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Dozens of friends and family members of 40-year-old Zach Tipton held signs outside the State Attorney's Office Wednesday. They're goal was to show prosecutors they're waiting for answers.

"Without any more information, we don't know what to think, that's the biggest problem and what hurts the most," said Tina Tipton, Zack's sister.

"By having this peaceful assembly, we can show whoever is working Zach's murder case that his family and friends love Zach and want to see justice for Zach," she said.

Zach Tipton was killed on June 26th in the parking lot in front of Nipper's in Jacksonville Beach. That's where police say an argument turned deadly. Since then, the investigation has been turned over to the State Attorney's Office. There have been no arrests.

In a statement to First Coast News, a spokesperson for the State Attorney's Office said:

The State Attorney's Office is conducting a thorough investigation into the fatal shooting at Nippers. An investigation can take weeks or even months to complete. At this time, no information will be released regarding a pending investigation.
