Lonnie Miller Park left with trash following Sunday crowds

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Big crowds on Sunday at Lonnie Miller Park left behind plenty of work for city crews as trash littered the landscape on Monday.

"It is a mess, it is horrible, disgraceful," said Mike Verrazano on Monday morning while walking the park off Moncrief Road for exercise.

Pam Roman with the City of Jacksonville Parks and Recreation department said there were no reports of damage except a small area of grass likely charred by hot coals.

Roman said city crews spent several hours cleaning up the park on Monday afternoon.

All the garbage cans were full with some bags of trash left near the containers. In other areas of the park, trash was left on the ground for someone else to pick up.
