K9 tracks down robbery suspect in St. Augustine

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A police dog helped track down an armed robbery suspect Saturday morning in St. Augustine.

According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, a man armed with a gun allegedly took a bag of money from a female clerk at Marriotti's Cleaners at S.R. A1A and S.R. 312 around 8 a.m.

SJCSO deputies and officers with the St. Augustine Beach Police Department searched a nearby wooded area with the help of Ryker, a K9 unit.

Ryker tracked down Aaron Jones,19, and deputies were able to place him under arrest without incident. The St. Augustine teen has been arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery.

The victim was not harmed.
