Jury finds Candace Jackson guilty

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A woman accused of murdering her lover's mother by running her over was found guilty Wednesday night.

In May 2013 prosecutors say Candace Kiara Jackson, 25, of St. Augustine and her girlfriend Shaina Armstrong were having relationship troubles. Jackson's girlfriend went with her mother - 56 year old Rosa Lee Armstrong - to the Bank of America on U.S. 1 South and Wildwood.

That's when prosecutors say Jackson drove her SUV into Shaina and Rosa - killing the Rosa almost instantly.

Jackson was charged with first degree murder and was found guilty of second degree murder, second degree attempted murder and aggravated battery.

Suspect accused of running over mother, daughter

The jury got the case around 3 p.m. Wednesday for the trial that started Tuesday.

Police investigate deadly, possibly deliberate, act

The prosecution brought had 18 witnesses take the stand, but Jackson chose not to testify.
