JSO finds missing 91-year-old man safe

Update 2/16/13 8:54 p.m.: The search for Harmon Hawkins, 91, has concluded according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. He was found safe and healthy by a JSO officer. Hawkins is in the process of being reunited with family.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A search is being conducted for a missing 91-year-old man, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO began investigating the incident Saturday after Harmon Hawkins did not return home after he left to go to the post office. He was last seen at 1 p.m. driving his 1995 two-door blue Toyota Corolla with a Florida license plate, P655ZY.

Hawkins has not been diagnosed formally with any mental conditions; however, according to a JSO press release a witness is concerned that recent forgetfulness may be an early sign of dementia.

Hawkins is described as 5'10" tall, 160 pounds with blue eyes and white hair. He

was last seen wearing a black jacket, white T-shirt and black jeans.
